Our Discipleship Program

The Children’s Ministry theme for this year is “Following Jesus” through the gospels.

We believe that there was no better way than a discipleship program. So this year we paired an older child (Junior or Primary) with a younger child (Pre-K or cradle roll).

Our hope for our older ones is to grow in leadership and responsibility. The younger ones we’d like to foster a little independence from their parents by providing mentorship and a nurturing, Christ-centered environment.

We desire to see cross class relationships to blossom - where children can share the love and good news of Jesus with one another.

How can this be achieved? We encourage children to intentionally connect- to seek each other out, say hello, write or draw messages to one another, and to pray for one another. In addition, we want to motivate our older ones to take initiative- to lead the little ones (when they are ready) into the singing portion of sabbath school and  children’s church, sit with them, help them to read scripture, sing with them, seek help for them when needed, and genuinely care for them.

Our prayer is that discipleship within Children’s Ministry becomes a journey of helping kids:

  • Know Jesus personally,

  • Grow in His truth, and

  • Live out their faith by loving God, loving others, and sharing His love with the world.
